I'm wondering if it'll be 2012 before a Hobo will get running..

I've put alot of what many people inculding myself at times would consider a waste of time looking after my Hobo. The Hobo Cluster's shown some good chances of working soon as of late. 2 switches plopped into my lap, and Also a load of wiring. so I'm okay for the patch panels I also have come into. As of the moment I'm working from a new Laptop.. LOL new to me. this thing's Duct-taped together.. the wifi works ... Somehow.. Fedora Installed without a hitch, but after failing to recycle XP onto it I was about to throw it, and then said.. why not try it.. It works I have a Machine..

Book of Sorrows is a website developed by my mother, and I.

The aspects of building this website is to have a place to blame others. the posts on the main page of the site are set to an anonymous Icon or name, and doesn't allow anyone whom might be on the site know what another person said about them.

the point is to keep the peace in real life while posting horrible and sometimes unfiltered facts or fictional facts about a person. all in the name of venting.

the testbed will be made-up of close people, and as long as that person doesn't give enough information to give themselves away things will work out right well.

Peace, and happiness, and a place to scream at those jerks in your life..

Hobo Cluster is made up of 7 PCs

Hammer (HP6735) 555 MHz 128MB
Uranus (HP6648c)
Searcher 600MHz 256MB
Yumi (Web server) 266MHz 256MB

Trisha
Kdonna 256MB

The Incompleteness is subject to not having a program to read the specs from inside windows, and the problem with Trisha, and Searcher needing reinstalled.

The Network is a 2 part. First is a 24port 10/100 hub, Second is a Belkin 10/100 B/G Wireless Router.

The Plan is to install Ubuntu on all the systems, followed by Server software.

I really hope to get some interest in the cluster. Small jobs of coarse. I've got to setup Terminal Server, and get the IPs into another Subnet.

S-Video to RCA

This is my solution for a S-video cable to Rca video feed.

I found it quite hard to figure it out. Even coming to self testing to find that if you connect (upper left) pin 1 with (lower right) pin 3 you get a Monochromatic feed. I think it's a darn shame that the logic in the worlds Internet hasn't got these quick easy solves.. I know we have DIY, but it doesn't seem to conquer the task of removing mass industry when it comes to pathetic middle pieces. like a box that take one connector and connects it to another but the box it 6X size larger then the cable. or has some circuit board that does nothing.

Does anyone have a prefered linux or Ubuntu distro that'd work well with chaining processors over a network? Did I mention they're different G/MHZ, and ram + hardware.. any help would be more than manual reading..

The Specs listed below may change with parts burning out or even be removed completely due to non-function.

The Cluster will be an ever expanding server cluster that will be rented or process student

school tasks. The connection is limited, and as such data is best processed in saved packs. I can't foresee at this moment what it can be used to do, but know it's got a chance of processing CAD data, and other mediums. One I personally wish to try is to map the structure of the local intranet state or even just county wide.

System Specs

PC1- HP Pavilion

PC2- HP Pavilion

PC3- Compaq Presario (in HP Pavilion case)

PC4- Gateway

PC5- KPM systems

OS- I've chosen with help to install FreeBSD on the systems.

I am told it'll manage the diversity.

Though now that I think about it there's a FreeBSD system I'd like to Install in place of the basic. I'll have to do research..(b_b)

I'm only planning to setup 5PC's at the moment. As more become stable I will Implement.

-Update.. Searching the net I found something called Haiku.. looking at it. Perhaps there might be a better idea.

Don't worry I'm testing on one machine before others. a 600mhz P3+256(Searching)
